That link is referencing the whitelisted ads I was referring to. There is a setting to turn off "non-obtrusive ads" in the settings of ABP, although I'm not sure if that also disables the paid advertisers. Here's a list of what's allowed through if this option is enabled.

I recommend uBlock Origin instead of ABP. It's very fast and does not have paid whitelisting.
