That being said, there is nothing to stop and RV park from telling you not to use such a device. It's their rules. You can hide your SSID in most devices but you may have difficulties getting reconnected if you do.
It's easy enough to find you if you broadcast so you have to make a choice.

I agree with Bill that this is one of the more stupid "technical" handouts I have ever seen at a campground. There are so many inaccuracies in it that it's not worth dealing with point by point. The use of your Jetpack is not going to affect other people's ability to connect to the wifi even if you are both using the same channel. Furthermore, it is simply wrong to say that personal routers emit a "potentially harmful unsecured signal" since almost all routers these days use the same or better security than the campground's wifi does.

My reaction would be to ignore it particularly if you're only spending a night or two there. They would have to be able to prove you are the source of any signal they detect which is easier said than done. Unless your SSID is your name, they would have to map out signal strength at the CG to prove you are the culprit.

Personally, if my choice was using my 4G hotspot or a crappy CG wifi, I'd leave before being forced to use the wifi.

Are they also asking you to pay for their wifi connection? If so, this is why they have this rule.

Unless there is very, very limited cell phone access available in the area, I have a hard time believing that my Mi-Fi (Verizon Jetpack) using my own cell phone access with Wilson cell-phone booster can impact their system?

No, they are not charging for the wi-fi. I am leaving in the morning so it's not a big problem. I was just wondering if there was some basis for their restrictions. Since these two parks are fairly close together, I thought maybe they use the same wi-fi setup company that has an odd notion of how things work. ;-)

Do you have issues with it locking up and needing to restart it? Powering up/down is not always a simple operation.

A mifi has absolutely no impact, positive or negative, on their wifi, period. Why not post their CG name? I would like to avoid such a place, that has ludicrous rules and absolute falsehoods to support them.
