Does she have a DVD player? You can make a photo slideshow with captions and music in WIN 7, and mail her the DVD.

It holds 100 photos and charges with a USB charger/port.
I bought one at Office Depot about a year ago and I have only had to recharge it twice.
Thanks for the suggestion but 1.5 inch screen is really too small plus I would have no way to get the photos uploaded to it while I'm traveling.
You can get a full size LED frame that allows you to email photos directly to it. I bought my parents one and email them photos from my phone all the time. Plenty of apps to add captions. Google "digital photo frames email capability"
