I use this. Simple and easy. I use more powerful software to edit my photos but I find this easier and faster for adding imbedded captions.

The symbolic price is 17 bucks....
I noticed too that it is for Windows only. On a Mac the Preview app that comes free with the Mac has text caption tools for photos.
