Likely what happened is the crooks didn't fraudulently sell 8 items from your acct....they probably sold 800. So the messages are just streaming in because your account is still linked to those sales.
Can you see the bad sales in your ebay account? Maybe those are just phishing attempts you are receiving about unreceived merch?
