Aiming directv dish

If you know the answer, why did you ask the question? There is a big difference between what may work for you in FL and what may work in another part of the country.

I have installed well over 100 DTV systems in RV's and stick houses and the answer that I gave you is the correct one. If you don't believe me, post your question on one of the DTV installer forums.

Why? I rarely change mine if I'm in Florida. I peak the 101 at high 90's and my HD sats are always in the high 80s. I never change them.

Correct me if I'm wrong but a few definitions;

Elevation is the up and down.

Azimuth is the left-right.

Tilt or skew is what you twist your dish to.

I think Dish uses different terminology.

The settings change in relation to how far you travel from the last time you set up. I camp often in a hundred mile radius and never change the tilt. Elevation and az are hand tuned anyway after getting them close enough to get a signal.

If you are going to move 300-400 miles a day I have readjust every 3-4 days.

Ok. I adjust it back to 90 to shoot the 101. Then I put it where the screen tells me to.

So, every time.

Which one of azimuth, elevation or skew is 'tilt'?

I have a multi-LNB Dish dish, but Direct would be the same. Pretty much any time you relocate the dish any distance the elevation and skew settings will change. Along with the azimuth of course.
