All in one DVD player/FM Radio/Surround source

My 5th wheel has a Curtis DVD 1073, which even when it worked was pretty much a piece of crap. But now it will not play almost any DVD's.

While I just complained about it, I love the fact that it is basically 5 devices in one.

They appear to not be made anymore and I cannot find a replacement on ebay etc.

I have also looked for a replacements, but come up dry, does such a beast exist anymore?

Link please?

Thanks in advance.

I have one like this and it works very well:http://store.sony.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/ProductDisplay?catalogId=10551&storeId=10151&langId=-1&productId=8198552921666408668
  • I believe Mandalay is on the right track.

The USER GUIDE even says Home Theater System on it. That basically means it has the Amplifier built in as well as possibly AM/FM radio.

If you shop for just a 'DVD' player, you will not find what you are looking for.

Shop for a Home Theater System instead. Maybe print out that User Guide and take to a store with you to show a salesperson what you are needing to replace.

The main issue may be that most Home Theater Systems will probably come with Speakers also, that you many not need. But you can probably find somthing for ~$200, It's been a while since i shopped them, so I could be off on those prices.

Something like THIS is what I'm talking about.
  • We installed this to replace our defunct Executive 1000.

It is a Samsung HT-D4500 Home Theater system that includes speakers & Sub-Woofer. We gave the speakers away to my son & used the existing OEM speakers.

I am currently streaming Pandora over it. It features a Blu-Ray disc, internet streaming, iPod/Aux, FM, Optical Audio in, & HDMI out.

Way better than the OEM unit. We were limited to it fitting the specific slot where the Executive 1000 resided. It fit like hand in glove.
  • What ever you do, avoid the RCA unit sold by WalMart. I bought one which went out in a week, took it back and got another which went out in 3 months.
