Alrighty, now I've got a new problem with my network

Old thread.

This happened yesterday and I thought it was a fluke, but it happened again just now.

I connect fine through my phone. 10 minutes later or so, it drops the connection. I try the release/renew, and get an error message. I try the troubleshooter, it starts to reset the wireless adapter, and the whole computer hangs. Mouse won't move, nothing. I pop out the battery and reboot. It boots normally and connects to the phone just fine.

I have not connected to anything except my phone in 4 days, so it's not that, this time.

Anybody have any ideas?

I did that. (Long before I posted here.) Nothing on their website, and no access to tech support as the computer is out of warranty.

Things seem to be progressing, and not in a good way. The computer crashed a minute ago, as I was reading here. I'm downloading some windows updates, in case they help, but it seems unlikely.

  • I think it's bigger than the browser. Have you tried an external (usb) adapter yet? It could be a lot of things that have nothing directly to do with the phone. It could be a corrupt file that's not accessed very often. It might be worth running a thorough diagnostics on your computer if you haven't done that yet. On Dells, the "F12" button at boot up will get you to that menu. Don't know about other brands.
  • Sounds like a browser problem
I have had FF , do that to me a couple of times on my win 8 , laptop
