Antenna doesn't work on all tvs thru out the camper!

Good morning!Need some additional opinions! Some friends bought 2009 Forest River Sierra 5th Wheel, there are 3 tv spots in camper, bunkhouse, living area, and master bedroom. The only tv working by picking up channels from antenna is the bunkhouse, the other 2 will not work. They bought new cable connectors, and wiring to connect tv to ant. port, put new cable wiring on tv to camper last night and only the bunkhouse would work. The strange thing is,the first trip out, they all worked fine, next trip nothing worked on them..Her husband feels like there is a shortage somewhere in the camper but has no clue as to how to locate it...Feeling irritated is putting it mildly. Has anyone else had this problem that might can shed a little light on what might be going on? Thanks!
  • I've had TWO brand NEW 5th wheels that had TV reception problems. 2001 Laredo had a bad coax between antenna and TV amp. Not discovered until I had new roof installed (10 years later). I always thought we just had bad reception in the SP we camped at, plus we watched little TV camping. Mostly DVDs.

2015 Glacier Peak had issue OP is having. TV reception fair in living room nothing in bedroom. Dealer ended up replacing the amp and we now have excellent reception on both TVs. Don't know if they also replaced any wiring.

  • Some TVs require you to do a full channel search every time you change locations. Have you tried that?
  • My first question would be, do they have the correct input source selected on the TVs with no signal?
  • Is there a video distribution system - a box that determines which video signal is going to which television?

If so, I would start there. I've helped two people where that was the problem. One had a loose antenna lead to the box. The other, a newbie, didn't have the correct buttons pushed.

  • first check all threaded connections then you could use a continuity tester to see if the various leads are intact?
