Thanks for the links - I'll check them out. Yes, exactly - I'm very concerned about bricking my Bullet.
be very careful when testing other configurations or you'll end up climbing on the roof to hold down the tiny button on your bullet to reset it to default - joebedfordNomad II

I honestly don't know the answer to that. There was nothing on the exterior of the Bullet that said it was specific to the Ranger but it might have a special firmware load. This was from ancient times - pre Go/GO2 (5 years ago).
Is your bullet a generic Ubiquity or a WiFiRanger version?
The generic Ubiquity should work with any modern router into the Internet port. If A WFR version there may be issues without the GO/GO2 etc. - joebedfordNomad II

My wifiRanger access point / router wifi failed. I want to replace that router with the linksys router so I can have wifi again.
What is the wrt54g doing? Is that the part with the failed Wifi? I'm not familiar with a wifiranger. - SCClockDrExplorerIs your bullet a generic Ubiquity or a WiFiRanger version?

The key points are to properly assign a subnet address that won't conflict with the campground server or your router (it's common for the default to remain 192.168.1.1-100 or 192.168.2.1-100) and also set the DNS to Google's public Name Servers 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4 to avoid conflicts. Also set your bullet as an "Access Point" (be very careful when testing other configurations or you'll end up climbing on the roof to hold down the tiny button on your bullet to reset it to default)

- joebedfordNomad III tried it in both the WAN port and a LAN port. I wasn't able to connect to it with my WRT54G. It does still talk to the ranger - that's how I know what IP address it's set for.
I think I'll try going direct from my PC to the Bullet. - GordonThreeExplorerI'd be curious to try plugging it into a LAN port first... doesn't the bullet have a wifi client mode? If so, it should connect park wifi to whatever is connected to the other end of the ethernet cable, and park wifi should give them all ip addresses? that's how I do it with my dd-wrt router at least
- ramgunnerExplorerThe Ubiquiti Bullet gives you an Ethernet signal out, does it not? That should feed into the WAN port on the router, and you go from there.
