The computer booted normally and I clicked on "Rebuild drive"........about an hour later it was finished imaging the lone HDD.........."System normal"
I have not yet checked out the failed drive but will do so........the computer was purchased the end of august 2012 with a 2 year warranty......it is now 4 months out of warranty......:S

And it didn't take a "rocket scientist" or a "MAC" to fix it..
RAID controllers are expensive but when a drive fails (MAC folks take note.. YOUR drives can and do fail just as easy since they ARE the SAME drives used in PCs and you DON'T HAVE RAID as an option..) it nice to not have to lose data or start from scratch. :B
