x2 Samsung has its own drivers. Also install Samsung KIES (download from Samsung) on your computer. See if you can connect the phone with USB to just browse the files on the phone. Once you can do that you sould be able to connect by USB for anything. Also - as stated by another reply, PDANet is being blocked on the newer Android phones. Check the PDANet website for workarounds and Android versions it will not work with (until they come up with a fix which will be blocked by another Android update).
