The phone gives me a message to use the camera media connect, ?? The computer does not recognize or respond to the phone/usb connection. Any suggestions? I have free wifi here at this cg, so not a big issue now, but would like to get it straightened out if possible.
You need to check the USB debugging box.
If you are on a share everything plan, ie; just renewed your contract, you don't need PDA or foxfi to tether. If you are on an old unlimited plan, then you do.
