I don't know how to state this clearly, I don't like much of the available TV programming. If it were up to me, we wouldn't have cable in the stick and brick. So I guess you can put me in the group of those who think it is a waste of money to have cable, satellite or to stream and not the best use of my time.
However, as my abilities to get out and commune with nature dwindle, I am finding a recliner and a computer on the table are replacing my hiking and other outdoor activities and I am looking at options that will give me more and faster computer time. I even bought a almost smart phone so I can make cell calls at our favorite campground without using the payphone. No cell coverage and no OTA TV there and the campground WiFi is well, typical campground WiFi , so it looks like an even smarter smart phone and a plan that will undoubtedly include some streaming feature, whether I want it or not is in my future.
It just seems that, that is the way things go in today's world. All that stuff that was Buck Roger-ish when I was 5 or 6 years old is becoming old hat today. Thank goodness that courtesy and neighborhood-ism is still alive in the world of tenting and RVing.
Just an old man's lament.
