Automatic satellite

Hi,
Been doing some searching around and didn't find exactly what I was looking for,. We just purchased a new fifth when and are considering an automatic dish as I am tired of setting up the dish on a tripod. I'm looking for a roof top satellite system. We have Shaw Direct as we are from Canada. I've been looking at the Winegard automatic dish and the RF Mogul system. Could anyone offer some advice on which one is better ? Also if anyone has the shaw direct version, and would like to add some Input that be great.

Thanks !
  • Just remember that if you frequently stay at parks with lots of trees, with a permanently mounted antenna it may be difficult, or impossible, to get reception. With a portable you can often find a hole thru the trees that you could not position the RV to be able to do.
  • We used the Winegard Traveler. Had it for 5 years and never had a problem. Loved pushing a button and while the sat is doing the alignment I go outside and finish the setups.

  • We finally decided to get the Wingard this spring and realized it was something we should have done years ago. Tripod wasn't really that big of a pain as long as you were going to be staying put for at least a few days but gets tiring if traveling. We will still carry the tripod in case we end up in a situation where tree cover necessitates setup. Did have to lower it during the big winds in Lethbridge in April but that was only a few hours. Bought ours in Quartsite and with the dollar in late March it was slightly less than we would have paid at home. With todays exchange I would imagine it would be a less money to do it in Canada.
