Autoscan mystery

I have 3 factory installed Samsung TV's in my 2011 coach. I am using the campground cable TV connection. I use the autoscan feature on each TV to set up the channels. Here's the problem: I don't get the same number of channels on each TV. Two of them receive about 75 channels and one of them only receives 40 channels. I've used the autoscan on the problem TV repeatedly and on back to back scans get 28 channels one minute and 42 channels the next. I've tried scanning under different weather conditions and various times of the day and night. Any explanation or recommendation?

  • If you have a long enough cable, connect it from the campground connection directly to your TV. If the TV scans in a bunch more channels this indicates that the problem is a bad cable or connection in your RV.
  • More than likely the tuner on the problem TV is over sensitive/weak, put up with it or get a new TV.
  • autoscans are based on signal strength at the time the scan is done. some tnings thst can have a negative impact on signal strength are..

    - poor or old coax. best is to use a quality (not usually found at a megastore) RG-6 cable
    - bad connectors
    - using push-on adapters
    - a flaky signal from the campground which could be attributed to any of the above

if the site ne t to you is vacant and you have enough cable try connecting to that site and see if the problem continues.
