Batteries for Dish Hopper remote

We've had Dish for over a year and the last couple months our remote goes thru batteries way too much. I'm talking about 3 to 5 days on new batteries. We aren't doing anything different. Used to be batteries would go several months. What could cause this??

I went on chat with Dish. They are sending a new remote
  • Call Dish and tell them about your problem. They will ship you a new remote and walk you through pairing it. Then you throw away your old remote.
  • A button on the remote stuck in the down position. I’ve had that happen on a universal remote before.
