best dish for dish network

I currently have a tail gator and I like it but I just found out we got a seasonal site we really want for next season. I'm looking for a new dish to permentely mount. I will be connecting one receiver for now but will upgrade to 2 receivers soon. I want HD what is the best dish to get? Also can I run one line in the sat in and split to multiple receivers?

  • Actually, if you are willing to do your channel selection in another room, just put a tee splitter on the rf output of the satellite receiver and rout a cable to the second tv set. Its a cheapo, but workable solution that I use.
  • When using the home style 1000.2 (Western Arc) or 1000.4 (Eastern Arc) antennas you must run one cable to each receiver as mentioned above, but those receivers could also be DVR's and a special Dish Separator (looks like a standard splitter) is available to allow that one cable to power both tuners in the one box.
  • You want one of the Dish 1000 (3 LNB) antennas. You'll need a separate coax running to each receiver. The antenna has 3 coax connections available, so feeding two receivers isn't a problem.
