  • The Sensar III with an added Wingman is actually "exactly" a Sensar IV in terms of performance.

Satellite Bill said it.. I have typed the same thing many times.

I am using a Sensar III with Wingman (Very close to the IV) and Sensar Pro and some stations come in better over the air than they do via park cable, IN fact I'm watching one of those (OTA) as I type.
  • Guys, thanks for all thr good imput. Narrows down my short list.

    Really appreciate the help.

The best RV antenna (something designed for an RV) is the Winegard Sensar IV with a Sensar Pro inside (Not required but an awesome add-on). Your coach might not have room on the roof for this antenna but it is indisputably the best (except for the few uninformed that will dispute this)!
I am not sure why, but TV reception is one of those things that RVers are extremely, over the top, passionate about. You are going to get many answers so it's going to take a bit of work on your part to separate the wheat from the chafe but if you get confused, refer back to this post.

    :p

Agree with the above but for those who don't want a large hole in the roof and a manual turning control on the ceiling, the Winegard Razar Automatic is likely the runner up.....and no manual aiming required.

the best RV TV antenna is a residential style antenna mounted on the longest piece of mast you can secure and fed with RG-6 coaxial cable. however that is not practical for most RVers other than maybe seasonal or permanently parked units. for everyone else most find the amplified Winegard Sensar IV batwing to be the next best thing. that's an directional antenna requiring a 12-volt connection to power the amp in the antenna head.

TV is line of sight so getting the antenna as high in the air as possible is crucial. the permanently mounted omni-directional antennas are OK if parked in or near an urban area but results are iffy out in the boonies.
