I agree, you're not really testing the RF characteristics of a piece of coax with an ohmmeter.
So if you are just doing continuity checks anyway, go even simpler and eliminate ANY resistor - open one end, check for infinity at the other end, then short the end with a clip lead and check for continuity at the other. It should read less than a few ohms depending on the type and length of the cable.
