Bluetooth for car

My wife just purchased a 2014 Hyundai Elantra that does not have Bluetooth for phone. I was shopping around and found a lot of devices. Anyone use one that they like with good connectivity and speaker clarity.

Not wanting to be argumentative but triple check that.

My '13 Elantra had it and it was not a "deluxe" model.
  • I use a Garmin Nuvi 3580 & the Bluetooth works well with my phone. If you already have a navigation system or don't want one, switching receivers is probably the best option.
  • My older mini-van didn't come with Bluetooth(BT) either. So swapped out the factory receiver with BT unit. Cost of the receiver, trim install kit, and wire harness was about $65. Works great, and also streams music from mobile devices. And much cheaper than using BT optional accessory for factory receiver.

Otherwise, you're limited to using a clip-on BT speaker, or a portable GPS with BT built in.
  • donn0, $440.00 I think she is going to use a rubber band or a tie strap. LOL
  • Purchased a Motorola at Walmart for $40. It clips on visor and it's re-chargable. Just pair it with your phone, works great. Also has it's own volume control.
  • Really not looking for the ear piece type. I'm wanting external or one that will come through the radio.

Plantronics Voyager Bluetooth headset. I have an older model that slips over the outside of my ear. works great.
