Bluetooth Incompatibility Any Gurus Have Advice?

When I go north I am going to pick up some USB Bluetooth gizmos for my old Gateway laptop. But I was warned by the gift-giver to not assume they will work with all Bluetooth devices. A slow connection...

Figures I buy into 3d the year it's discontinued. Both Netflix and the local video shop dropped out of 3D.

The few I watched were awesome, really immersive. Don't know why it's not more popular.
