B&N NOOK Out Of Business?

My Kindle has downloaded books just fine in PV, Mazatlan, San Hose de Cabo, Guadalajara and Lake Chapalla.

Been doing it for years, same modem, same credit card. This just started.

B&N took money from VISA, even giving me an order number. VISA confirms the charge. My B&N account does not show the book. The VPN reached B&N help and the young lady patiently explained my 2019 credit card had expired, so I listed my 2020 VISA card different number same account. I can ARCHIVE books, I can shop and I can PAY FOR books but they will not show up in my library. Not even on my laptop which allows access to my bank account.

I can get this caliber service down here.

Did you buy the Nook service in the U.S.? You might have to do your downloads from the U.S.

Not just books, but for other copyrighted material, online providers are usually restricted by copyright owners as to where they can sell or distribute. It took Apple several years of negotiation to expand iTunes beyond the U.S. and still cannot sell just anything anywhere, distribution of each item has to be individually managed according to its licensing terms. The cost of doing this keeps some online providers from entering foreign markets.

Looks good from here, no problems accessing NOOK or books at B&N.

Check the address you typed in; it could be a spoof site with a similar address. Just a thought.

Wonder why this just started? But your responses have reassured me. Somewhat. No email reply sent a week ago. Their site comes up, but it has a huge B&N banner ad covering the B&N menu bar and when I roll the laptop cursor across it, it flickers badly. I tried a VPN Web Anonymizer with the same results.

Connect through a VPN and you'll probably be able to do all of those things.
