Yeah, what was I thinking? :W The OP, who said himself he doesn't know much about this topic, can fool around with cell boosters and maybe find something that will work with his particular phone, service provider, and the area in which he intends to camp OR he could rent a satellite phone with guaranteed worldwide service. For "critical" use, as the OP claims he needs, I know what my choice would be. ;)
