I would, as someone suggested, Simply plug in a good high power router to the existing router.. Way easier than all other suggestions.
Also you can locate that 2nd router up to 300' away from the cable modem without using a booster (that's 300 cable feet not 300 linier feet)
IF it were just ONE device that needed stronger signal.. I'd have a differnet suggestion (What I"m using to type this) but since it appears the cable modem is a long way from teh computer room,, A simple re-router hard wired in the computer room is choice #1
As for smart TV's.. Remember they have mics and cameras hackers love to watch and listen.
