The amount of Data you'll need depends on how much streaming of video and music the family will use. If streaming is minimal, 20gb of data will give you plenty of capacity. Streaming a single HD movie, however can eat up 2-4gb all alone though!
My suggestion, base on my current setup:
Get a GOOD Router that offers Wifi-as-WAN connectivity - We have a Cradlepoint MBR1400. This allows you to tether a mifi unit or usb aircard, as well as connect to available wifi whenever you have the option at a CG.
Get a mifi unit that operates on whatever network is available in the places you frequently camp. Make sure that unit can be tethered so you can plug it into the router.
If your family streams video and you find that 20gb is not enough, think about getting TWO Millenicom mifi units. With BOTH plugged into the MBR1400, you can set the router to Load Balance the two, so as not to run out of data on one or the other.
Obviously, the more services and hardware you add, the higher the cost will be, but if large amounts of data are a must for you, then it really is your only option.

Hey everyone, we're brand new to fulltiming and taking off in about 4-5 months. I've been looking into Internet options for my addict family ;) and could use some help! I school online part-time and also have a 9 year old that will be homeschooling, so secure Internet is very important for us.
I've found so far that Millenicom is our best bet giving 20gb/mo vs the average 10gb that others give. Is this sufficient for 2 schoolers and 3 FB addicts? What kind of "router" would best allow 3-4 computers, 4 tablets, and a TV to connect easily, including when using free CG WiFi? Any info you can give me would be much appreciated! Thanks!
