cable connection

I have a 2004 Gulfstream Sunvoyager, when I connect to cable the picture on my TV is very snowy. I can use rooftop antenna or sat dish &the picture is great. The connector for cable is located in rear compartment. What would be an easy way to check this problem out?

    Several possible issues: #1 on the hit parade is the first two responses, I'll give them the credit. Other possible issues are dirty/loose connectors, bad coax and staple through the coax shorting it out.

    But I would put my money on the first two responses. User error.

    X2 on the antenna booster switch being OFF for cable. Most times it is located near the main TV. It's usually a cover with a coax connection, 12v receptacle and a small slide switch.
