Camping Website/App

What would be neat....would be a list of gas stations that are NOT RV friendly.....I have had to unhook toad in several stations (Pilots and others) that are just NOT conducive to RVs. It is really a bummer to pull off and once at station realize that no way can I maneuver in there...... Maybe too much to ask/request, but if get enough input and since building from ground up.....that just may be an incentive/possibility-just saying! Good luck on your adventure.

The OP corrected himself. The app and website are still quite active. I use it and post reviews on a regular basis. The owner has even fixed errors when I sent in the correct information. It's quite well run.

Does Allstays filter for discounts?

I'd love to see something that mapped all campgrounds, but showed the ones my personal discounts work at with a different color or icon.

And anything using the Allstays database but with a better UI would be great :).

I just learned about RVParky for android here, and I love it!

One of the problems with developing an app or site that includes everything is that there are so many "must haves", often each different for each individual. Finding a way to provide links to the different "most haves" without making the site too cumbersome is the trick.

For example, AllStays link to a Google search for campground reviews worked well in the past, however I've noticed that the rvparkreviews.com link is moving lower & lower in the search results. A direct link would probably be more useful...

I think AllStays (and the others that use filters) provides a useful interface, however if you added Maps, Satellite views, local attractions, and some of the other suggestions, I suspect it would become more difficult to use.

The iPhone APP,"AllStays Camp and RV" has many of the items listed in replies. $10 for the full version.

AllStays satisfies pretty much all my needs for planning and during my trip. It provides links to sites, photos and reviews.
You are of course free to enter into this arena with another app or webpage, but I can't think of what unique aspect you could bring to it that would drive people away from well known and popular apps and webpages to yours.

But I do wish you good luck with your endeavors.

The problem with that approach is that the more "stuff" you try to include in an app, the less-well it is done. I prefer sites and apps that focus on one thing and do it very well. Lots of folks like Allstays because it has so much "stuff" in it besides campgrounds. But unfortunately their campground data is quite lacking, missing lots of locations. A site like The Ultimate US Public Campground Project focuses on just one thing only - public campgrounds and does it very well.

Although I don't use it, RV Park Reviews focuses on one thing and is a go-to site for campground reviews.

As others have said, without offering something unique that is not currently available, you'll have a tough time going up against established sites and apps.
