My MasterCard is very good about refunding charges for me.
I'm not giving up. They tell me that these erroneous charges are there to check that the credit card is valid but like I told them none of the charges match what my invoice says. She said one of the charges will back off in a few days. I order a lot of stuff from all over the country and I've never seen any other company do this. Trust me I've learned my lesson not to shop at CW anymore and will just buy locally. With ID theft being what it is I have the bank send me text messages whenever a charge is placed against my card so this system that CW uses is very annoying.
Most online retailers don't place "charge holds" any more. What happened, I imagine, is that when you placed the order they initiated a charge for the price to verify your card was good for the money. They probably never finalized that charge, so they are right, it will fall off your card. What they didn't tell you is that some banks keep these holds active for up to 14 days. Other companies only charge the card when they process to ship. If the card fails, they don't pack the order.
They finally backed off the charges and actually after doing the math I realized just like the time before they were double charging the shipping fees. At least I learned my lesson and won't shop there anymore.
