Exactly. I'll bet if they needed that ladder right then to rescue their cat trapped in a tree or to fix a leak in the roof before an impending rainstorm they would gladly have paid the extra $48.00 to not have to wait two days.
And I also agree that they are probably greedy themselves. I would bet they have never gone to their employer and said they wanted them to research the job market and then adjust their salary so that they make exactly the same as the lowest paid person doing that job anywhere in the country.
