Your not listening to the specific issue westernrvparkowner. This isn't an opinion issue. It's why Marcus replied "fixing it." He knows the laws.
This has nothing to do with the ability of a vendor to set their own price. No one is disputing their ability to do that. They cannot however, make claims about that price in terms of it being a sale or that price in relation to a previous price without meeting FTC regulations and 50 different state consumer protection laws. You also can't compare automobile sales practices because they have their own set of state regulations as part of dealer franchise law.
Back to this specific issue they must abide by FTC 16 CFR Part 233 dealing with deceptive pricing. You can read it here.
