Camping World sale flyer misleading

Over that last year when in the area, I would drop into Camping World to purchase their ten foot Patty O-Shade. Like other items I have wanted in the past they were always out of stock. A few days ago I received the Camping World 9th annual Outdoor &RV Expo. I thumbed through the flyer and behold, to my amazement there was the 10 foot Patty O-Shade on sale for 99.99. A little spendy for a piece of fabric but I already have the 15 foot for the other awning and when the sun gets low in the sky, they are a blessing. I drove to the Wood village Or store with wallet in hand. I went to the shelf where they were located and found only the 15 foot model. I went to the parts counter and asked where they were. I was told that it is not an item they stock but they could order it and the cost would be 99.99 with an additional 44 dollars for shipping. I asked why I could buy the fifteen foot model off the shelf without paying for shipping and they said it is because it is a stocked item. I pointed out that the 10 foot model is in flyer on sale and leads people to believe that it is there at the store. I though for a minute about buying another fifteen foot model and just cutting it down but then thought they have gotten to much of my money already. If this is the way they are going to treat people, they don't need my business. From here on out, no more big box corporate stores for this guy.

  • I took your advise and went to Amazon. Free shipping and the total was 97.40. The had one a two day shipping that were far cheaper Camping world won't miss me but I can see that with forums, people are going to wise up and they may feel some pain. Thanks for your help.
  • Most stores like Cabella's and Eddie Bauer have free shipping when it's shipped to their store with their normal freight shipments. CW should do the same.

  • If you are a life member, shipping is free on most items $99 and over. Guess you didn't check Campingworld.com or call to see if they had it in the store before you drove there.
It shows online if it is an in stock item. I'm sure if you would have called the order line, they would have shipped it to you free.
Check amazon as stated, you can probably find it for less anyways.
  • Amazon is my first place I go to find RV and camping supplies. Great prices and usually free shipping to your front door and just think how much fuel and aggravation is saved.
  • Pretty typical for Camping World. This is the sort of thing that has steered me towards Amazon for all of my RV related purchases.
