Can anyone explain these emails?

If it is unsolicited spam then I have experienced the same. It appears fine on my iPhone and Android but on the PC it displays as described. I have my virus protection and spam filters set pretty high on the PC. It appears that someone overseas has placed a "copy" of a of an ADT ad or other ad and placed it over another message (or virus) as many of the background script appears to be another language. Since I don't have the knowledge to know what the "layered" message's true meaning is, I only view it as a preview and never click it to open it up. I assume that there is nothing but trouble hiding behind the content and delete it.

ADT was just one example of many. Another I get regularly is Fidelity. Still looking for an answer.

probably adt's fault. i have them at my s&b and they recently made changes to their web site and i now cannot access my account with google chrome. so much for an educated idiot going to change the world.

The only font selection I can find is in outgoing mail text.

I haven't used Outlook in quite a while but is there a selection in Fonts to set Encoding for received mail?

As I said, it shows up on both of my computers and I never have seen this before a few months back. I get two to three a day like this, although it has been mostly junk, up to this point.

Might be a document created with a source application you don't have. Just a guess.

Actually this is not a browser problem. It occurs with certain emails opened through Outlook 2007. The same emails, when opened with my Android are displayed properly. The ones I crosschecked did have pictures displayed, but it doesn't do this with all emails displaying pictures.

My self and many of my friends had this problem with IE11 using Windows 7 and Outlook.
The problem didn't occur with Windows 8.
Our solution was to use Firefox.

It could be that the person sending you the emails is using a font you do not have. Can you change your settings to Rich Text Format and see what happens?
