Hell, even windows 7 is going to die at the end of the year so XP is just plain dust now...
You probably can only get IE 10 on that XP box and there is a reason they don't support 11 on older OS's...
XP was great during it's time. 7 is still great too, but they are going to stop support on it, so what can you do??
Gotta go with what they provide and while all the Linex stuff is great too, none of the programs I use for work won't work with it...
I'm gonna have to upgrade a ton of computers and servers before the end of year (Server 2008 ends at the end of the year too...).. should have done this sooner, but here we are and here you are..
