Which browser with Windows 8

Okay--here's a new term for me--Sandboxie. What is it? Is it part of the Chrome browser? Sounds like you're saying that firefox may be more secure? Thanks.

I use Chrome + Sandboxie for general Web browsing. For my banking and sensitive stuff, I use Firefox and a different sandbox. That way, if Chrome gets compromised, the effect will be mitigated somewhat.

I think I'm going back to Firefox as I, too, used it for several years (come to think of it-I downloaded it for the first time on the advice I saw on this forum several years ago. :) ) I also appreciate the warning about Chrome. At home I have "cable" internet access so data usage isn't a problem, but when we travel I use a Verizon Air Card (got tired of slow Internet in most RV parks) but found with our smart phones plus the computer we were going through a lot of our data allowance--and that was using Firefox.)

Chrome. If you have a smart phone or tablet with Chrome be sure to use the same login credentials. All of your bookmarks will appear on all devices.

I've been using Windows 8.1 since it came out - at first I was bewildered with it, coming from Windows Vista, but I've learned to like it. I find it easier to understand than Windows 7, which is on my wife's computer.

As for a browser, I trust Firefox. Been using it for probably 10 years or so. I tried Chrome and found that, although it is indeed faster, you gain that speed at the cost of data throughput. If you're on a limited internet connection, such as hotspot of mifi device, you'll use up data whenever Chrome is loaded, whether or not you're actually surfing. It constantly downloads current information for EVERY web site you frequent so that when you decide to actually open up that website it is already there for you. If your internet connection is unlimited then that doesn't really matter, but it will increase your data use by a substantial amount.

Using Win 8.1 and Chrome on my laptop. Also use Chrome on my desktop running Win 7. No problems with either setup.

I use Firefox with win 8.1. Also use AVG, Zone Alarm and other security software. No Problems.

I've also run 8.1 for months since it was first available. For those that recommend staying with 8, what problems did you encounter?

I use FireFox with Win 8.1, works great for me.

8.1 and Firefox. I have been using them both daily for many months without issue. I like 8.1 MUCH better than 8 but Win 9 looks like it could be even better.
