That is kind of true/ not true in a roundabout way. No, you cannot use the trailer's cable connector, but you can use the satellite connector, if it has one. A cable connection has non-powered and powered splitters; a satellite connection has nothing between the connector and the connector inside your trailer. Same as running the cable directly to the receiver. When you are in the setup mode on your receiver, are you choosing the right dish/switch mode? I bring my receiver from home, and have to change that as we have a different type dish and switch at home. Once you finally get it, it is pretty easy to get a signal, even with trees in the way. Takes a lot of practice, though.
