You also need to set the HR24 to use just one tuner since you are using one coax. However in the future you’ll probably want to use both tuners with 2 coax from the dish to the receiver. Have you set the receiver setup to match your dish?
You might consider returning that dish and getting a SWM dish which uses one coax for both tuners. The HR24 can be set up for SWM and dual tuners with the one coax. And a future upgrade to the HR44 will give you 5 tuners with one coax.
First and foremost many have issues trying to use existing rig coax with satellite so bypass it with a direct connected coax through a window until you get it working. Then see it the rig coax will work. You must get the dish aimed with signal strength of about 80 or more on the tuner(s). Close enough won’t work but close enough may give the signal strength meter a signal then allowing the dish to be further aimed using the meter or the signal levels displayed on the TV (use the receiver settings). You must also setup the receiver to match the dish type.
