- RoyFExplorerWe were able to make calls from there with the aid of a booster. (That was several cell phones ago and I can't remember which booster we used.)
- older_fossilExplorerWhile there are a few spots where distant towers can be hit, the vast majority of the park has no signals. Don't depend on a cell phone in that area. A few years ago Verizon put in a small cell in the Furnace Creek area. When we were last there in Feb. 2019, we had a fair 3G signal at Sunset CG, and a Verizon roaming partner over in Stovepipe Wells. I don't know if anything has changed since then.
Art - I got some 2g data a few years ago. I think I got a few texts out. Mostly no. Bring a couple rolls of quarters and use a pay phone. Yes there are a couple and were working last time I was out there. Basically off grid so keep your wits about you. Carry two days food and water when you go explore. Top your vehicle fuel every day. With any luck I will be in TX Springs camp next week.
