I have a Wilson Amp with an Omni mag mount antenna here at home which is providing this connection to the internet.
Made all the difference in the world for my remote location (15 miles to nearest cell tower, through trees and over hills.)
The bars only tell you your reception strength of the higher cell tower Tx. By comparison, the mobile device has very little power output to get back to the tower. The Wilson amp increases that output power to 3 watts (I think).
