cell phone coverage in northern Manitoba
Hi, Does anyone have experience or advice about using a cell phone in Manitoba? Their system is, I believe, mostly CDMA.

Yep. You roam on mts. You will have coverage in The Pas, Thompson and Gilliam.
Cdma will give you Churchill and a bit more on the road.
Do you know anyone with a dual mode phone, such as Nexus 5? You may be able to swap Sim cards and get access. But not certain of that.
