I know you are looking in the reverse but this might be worth considering if you are with Verizon and especially if you are only visiting for a couple of weeks.
Some FT Canadian RVers have found it cheaper to go permanently with Verizon out of the USA over and above having both a Canadian and US cell. They pay for the North America Plan that gives them 'x' minutes per day (think 450 midweek and 1000 at weekends), whether in the USA or Canada making/receiving calls. Might be worth asking Verizon how much to add on a travel package being only for 2 weeks here.
FWIW: When we go to the USA from Canada we tend to put a $50 package on our phone for 'x' minutes per month, unlimited texting and I think about only 100mb of data but it does us for switching on for checking email here and there and mostly we use wifi for anything major or when near wifi just check because it's free. Works for us but we don't surf the net when travelling. We also use a tracfone down in the USA with $100 per year and top up annually which means we have a residual build up year over year generally. There are pay as you go options if you pop into Walmart here or Macs/7-11 stores, but Canada is known to be extortionate on our cellular phones/data by comparison to most countries. Just like the USA has T-Mobile, Straight Talk and others we too have things like WIND mobile that are cheaper but how useful in certain areas is always debatable.
