This is not a good idea, you would be better off buying a router
To connect the pc to chromecast, not your phone
There are other Wi-Fi devices designed specifically for connecting the TV to the PC
Chromecast..is designed to use your "NETWORK" to mirror the pc screen to the TV, in this case your NETWORK was Verizon
The problem being the phone is not designed to be a stand alone Wi-Fi router...not using Verizon internet
Are you saying I can use the router without actually having internet access?
I use the phone for internet on the PC because I only camp less than 10% of the time. I don't think it would be economical to buy ans subscribe a modem just for camping. As far as watching PC content on the tv, I'll just go back to the way I did it before Chromecast, with a 15' HDMI connection.
