I know the major use for this chromecast plug-in unit is for downstreaming HULU ROKU video/TV downstreams using wireless WIFI signals...
I am using firefox browser here and do go to places ON-LINE like 'Watch TV Series' and 'mopvideo' to watch broadcast TV shows ON-LINE that I missed after it was aired live. I have used GOOGLE CHROME browser at times as well but FIREFOX always seems to have less problems for me to use with my older MS Windows XP-PRO operating system.
I think I am reading I can use this CHROMECAST Device plugged into my HDTV HDMI port and can view anything I see on my laptop video screen on the large screen TV set. I think I am reading here that I don't need to subscribe to anything to do this. However if I do subscribe to HULU or ROKU I can watch downstream video HDTV signals probably better than I am currently watching using the free to use mopvideo or watch TV series downstream programs.
My big problem here I have run out of HDMI ports on my DELL M90 Docking station where I have two external 24-inch monitor screens connected to my DELL M90 high end laptop computer setup. If I had another HDMI port I would just use a HDMI cable between the Dell Docking station and my large screen TV HDMI port and select it from the TV menu screen...
I am just trying to come up with a better way to view my missed HDTV shows using my M90 Dell laptop at a later date...
Will the $35 Chromecast HDMI plug-in device help me here without having to subscribe to anything else to be able to view on my large screen HDTV setup what I see on my DELL M90 computer monitor... I can see these video downstreams just fine on my DELL 24-inch monitors using the free downstream programs but I am thinking the Chromecast unit may show these programs in full High Def mode on the large screen TV.
Maybe I would be better off just getting a HDMI driver box with multiple ports instead... I am not interested in subscribing to HULU or ROKU for a monthly fee as I can downstream all of these TV programs using the free to use TV programs..
Will the $35 Chromecast HDMI unit work for me using it this way...
