powderman426 - I think I probably should just figure out a way to get another HDMI port going on my setup. Like said above all I want to do is send what I display on my LAPTOP monitor screen to an external High Def TV screen...
I guess I could experiment first with my setup by disconnecting my HDMI cable going to my 24-inch monitor and see if I can send this to my VIZIO 32-inch wall mounted HDTV I have in my room with just a special HDMI cable from best buy..
When I first saw this Chromecast was a wireless WIFI adapter type of device I thought it might solve my problem for just $35.
As stated I am not interested in subscribing to HULU or any of the other TV PROGRAM downstreaming plans as I currently can download these TV PROGAMS for free to my M90 Dell laptop setup bby going on-line. I just need a better monitor system to display it.
I would also like to display some of my other M90 Laptop programs and still photos etc on the large HDTV screen as well...
Guess no one has played with any of this on here as you can see all I get it works with this or that but I still have any idea if the Chromecast will display whatever I see on my M90 Laptop screen or maybe it just works with video program like a cell phone APP would do??? Maybe it just uses the computer to get on the internet to do its thing???
When you read up on it on-line it keeps talking about you have to subscribe to HULU or ROKU and use it downstream TV PROGRAMS for a fee... Doesn't mention any other things you can do with it...
I'm probably wasting my $35 to only try to use it as a WIRELESS HDMI CONNECTION only to get from my M90 Laptop Docking Station to the large screen HDTV HDMI video input port.
Maybe you can list a few of the other things you can use this for to view on the large screen HDTV... Sounded like the OP was viewing some home video files and maybe some still photos from his computer to the large screen HDTV which would nothing to do with downstreaming TV programs for a fee......
I'm just plugging in the wind here haha...
Thanks for the inputs...
