I can think of 20 locations 20 feet from my home which don't have cell coverage. :B Yup, no towers where I live. None of the providers offer any sort of coverage. Frankly, I like it. Anyone who needs to reach me has my land line. Everyone else (work).... we will catch up with them on Monday morning.
DW & I were advisers on a nearby linear trail about a decade ago. The big question was should we put in call boxes every half mile because there is no cell service. Being a smart aleck I raised my hand and asked what was done for linear trails before cell phones were commonplace. Answer: Nothing.
Yes, they are very convenient devices to have. However, unplugging from the communication grid has its benefits.
