Computer Based Radio

I'm in a poor reception area for radio, but can get almost any radio program I want through my computer. Problem is, I can't turn the sound up high enough and I can't move the "radio" around the house to a different room.

Is there any kind of device that picks the program up off my computer and is sound/location adjustable? If I could find such a device, think I'd just junk my TV's, as they are just full of******now days.

All of the TABLETs we have also are great RADIO INTERNET tools... Of course you will need a WIFI signal but they also tune in all of the RADIO INTERNET audio streams.

The small HP type computers are best at doing this as you can TAB-UP several streaming audio links at the same time like for using the RADIO SCANNER links. The TABLETS all seem to only do one at a time type of thing.

I have a portable speaker sound setup in my TRUCK CONSOLE and have a MOUNT there for my DROID cellphone. I listen to the RADIO SCANNER APP all the the time doing this. Nice and loud coming off my portable speaker setup...

When I am parked waiting on the wife when shopping I am all setup with my internet radio audio links.. I have a couple of STEREO plugs adapters where I can plug at least four audio phone cables into devices all using the same portable speaker. My truck has the SIRIUS RADIO in it but with all the amps and things that goes with will run down my truck battery pretty quick when in ACC mode. I tend not to use that when waiting for a long period of time. I do miss not listening to WILLYs ROADHOUSE on Sirius Radio however... I got bunches of AA batteries to use up without killing my way back home hehe...

If I run into a NO WIFI area I can either setup one up with my DROID or use my VERIZON MIFI setup to create my own WIFI HOT SPOT.

Always got a PLAN B hehe...

I use an Ugo bluetoooth speaker. tremendous sound out of such a small speaker. the UGO also comes with a charging USB cable in case your internet radio doesn't have Bluetooth but it does have a USB port.
  • check your on board stereo for a USB port. most stereos have one and you can plug your puter or cell phone directly into it and play through that. I run my cell phone through the house stereo and it works great. Just sayin....

Its called BLUE TOOTH speakers.... Check them out from WALMART.
You should be able to link a BLUETOOTH SPEAKER setup from your computer and get all the volume you need.

I also use the internet for a radio scanner now. All of the local police went digital and all of my older scanners don't work anymore. So now i listen to the locals and anywhere else I used to live at and keep tabs on what is going on POLICE wise.
