Can someone tell me the correct order of connecting things? I have the Winegard G2+, a Direct TV receiver and Sat Input connection on the outside of the RV.Here is how I "THINK" I should do it.Winegard inserter box plugged in but not powered on. Direct TV box unpluggedTV source set to Satellite 1. Connect the cable to the Sat Input on the RV2. Connect cable to the Dome3. Push button to power on Winegard Inserter box.At this point Satellite dome should search for a signalOnce it finds signal plug in Direct TV receiver.Should now be able to watch TVIs this the right order of doing things?

What seems wrong with it? I have that manual and it is set up as per the instructions. What do you do different?

We have a G2+ and your directions seem correct. Once the power inserter is powered, it should provide power to the dome to start the search process. The other way to test would be to bypass the Sat connection on the outside and route the cable direct to the dome through a window to see if the RV cabling is somehow bad.

This setup procedure has worked in the past. But now we cannot get it to find a signal. Connecting the cable directly to the inserter box it begins searching and find a signal right away. I suspect that something is going on with the connection at the RV. And of course that is all inside the walls. LOLThanks for your help everyone!

Make sure the antenna booster power switch is off.Do you have a video switch to change from different sources?

The satellite cable comes into the rig, where does it go?
I am thinking it is attached to the antenna booster power supply.
My rig came with a video switch to separate antenna, cable and satellite from each other. it also makes it possible to watch different TVs from different sources. (only one satellite source)

Source is set to satellite. Antenna switch off...hmm, don't think we have ever turned that off but will make sure when I try it again later today.
