Verizon is doing everything they can to winnow down the people still on unlimited plans.
3g is not going away. verizon uses it for other services such as their new Verizon Vehicle service.
if unlimited service is what you want then i would do nothing that could affect it.
if you buy a hotspot that does both 3g and 4g=if you have 3g unlimited thats what you will get-despite it being 4g capable.
as someone else said Verizons latest hotspot is ONLY 4g. if you wanted it you would lose unlimited.
i have no doubts that eventually Verizon will accomplish it's goal of eliminating it's unlimited contracts. it's just a matter of when-not if.
