I just looked at the VM coverage map and the coverage looks pretty pathetic unless you are on a highway or near a good size city

You can get some good deals with Sprint and T-mobile if their coverage suits you. I have threads here on both for free or little money. My TMO hotspot isn't unlimited but the Binge on streaming is. Take the streaming away and 5 gigs is a lot for futzing around the internet.
So in Denver metro both are usable and in many places much faster than Cricket. On the edge of town it's a different story with weaker signals and a lot of congestion issues for Sprint and TMO. Cricket is consistent everywhere and all day.
I've only been up the hills once this year with all of the devices. The only consistent connection was Verizon 3G, none of the rest of them had anything to brag about. - wa8yxmExplorer III"On a bigger network than T-mobile"
I do not know if T-mobile still has a roam aggrement with AT&T but they used to and I do know there are places where my phone says it is using AT&T towers. Do not know if this applies to DATA or voice only.
Page 2: On my T-Mobile plan (Unlimietd data but only 10 gigs plus "Data stash" of high speed 4Glte.. after than it's "Edge" and watch grass grow) I got a notice yesterday my data stash had hit 20 gigs.. This is an increase from the 10 Gig max when they first established it,, Also much of what I stream is not counted (Music for example) and only once have I ever Maxxed out.. April 2013,, My wife died on the last day of March 2013.. So I used a lot of data doing all the post-tramatic paporwork (Insurance and such) that poor phone worked it's transistors off sending documents hither and thither and yon.
