Cross-Platform Calendar app recommendations?

Hello, all.

I'm looking for a calendar app that can easily sync between my (windows) PC, and android tablet and phone. May as well throw the SO's Iphone in the mix as well.

Recommendations?

I don't need anything too complex, just reminders of what my appointments are and birthday reminders etc.

Thanks for your thoughts!
  • I use the Windows Live Mail client on my Windows 10 laptop (and used it with Windows 7, as well). I just set up the email on my Android phone to point to my Live Mail account and to update the calendar only (I don't want all the emails dinging in on the phone). Works great and updates automatically any time I enter or change something in the calendar on the laptop - no app required.

Be careful about creating more than one calendar per account/logon though.
    That can become VERY confusing.

One shared calendar works good for us: 2 Win7 laptops, iPod, 2 droid phones and a tablet (win 10 I think).
  • I use Google calendar. Can access from pc, tablet or phones, it automatically syncs.
  • Considering your mix of technologies, I'd go with Google calendar. We've had good success with the IPhone calendar and share calendars between two IPhones, two IPads, and laptops.
  • Another plug for Google Calendar. I have the app installed on my phone and tablet, and frequently view it on the laptop. It works great. And my wife and I share each other's calendars so we can see what's going on so we don't double up on appointments.

Yahoo and Google both have such calendars.. The actual callander is kept on the remote server but all your devices can access it.

If your 'droid is a Samsung I believe they can do it too.

ONE NOTE and ONE DRIVE are both shared "notebook" and File services that work on Windows and 'Droid as well.. i use One Note for my miles per gallon log cause it's easier to do the needed division on the PC than the Droid.
  • Put it on a server. The Cloud, or at least, choose one cloud.

I been using iCloud, the oldest of my late brothers used Blackberry (corporate private server) for years, Microsoft will take care of you with Windows Live, and my two daughters are using Google Calendar.

For mixed platforms, I recommend Google. Be careful to make it a single account, sharing a calendar. Both of my daughters have found that they have multiple Google accounts because their school or workplace uses Google servers for their "private" systems and the occasional cross-communication sometimes gets confusing. I have three Google accounts (similar reasons) but am careful to only use one of them for messaging, and I keep my calendar with Apple because the devices I use for mail and calendar are either iOS or OS-X.
